Our Trip to the Finger Lakes, NY (by Kim)

Last weekend (Thanksgiving) we took off to New York State and the Finger Lakes - so named because after the glaciers carved them out they looked like fingers. The trip began with a mildly rough 2.5h ride on the new Rochestor Ferry and only got better from there. We saw tons of waterfalls (19 in Watkins Glen Park alone!) and a gorge in Letchworth Park that is reputed to be the "Grand Canyon of the East". The scenery was quite beautiful, even if the weather was rather grey and damp. In between nature walking we ate and drank well (Mike found some Blackberry beer in Corning), found some time to blow some glass and watched Wallace and Gromit (highly recommended!).

I'm writing this post as Mike is pretty excited but overwhelmed by his new job at the moment...I'm sure that he'll have lots to tell all of you soon.
